learning has to be systematic & intentional. After a short time,

About Miss Peh's Experience
She has always liked working with children and teenagers. Her passion is not to merely teach the English language, but to see individuals find purpose in doing what they do through a discipline (i.e. English Language). Having taught English for more than 8 years now, She has worked with hundreds of secondary students with vastly varying abilities. Some have a natural flare with the language, and with these students, She gives them plenty of creative space, encouragement and guidance to further develop their gifts. Provoking questions and challenges are posed to these students to stretch them further.
Her Observations & Strategy
However, many other students come from non-English speaking backgrounds struggle to even string a simple sentence without grammatical errors. With these students, she introduces and reinforces basic grammatical rules in progressively manageable portions. She believes the plain drilling of grammar rules kills interest for the subject, so in addition to this and together with her students' participation, they explore searching for English books of a suitable level and of their interest for them to pick up and read. It is interesting to observe that when students find a purpose or develops an interest, reading, expressing and writing no longer becomes an obstacle.
She is also a firm believer in being practical, and that means she string interests, passion and examination skills tightly together such that classroom activities that are meant to pique interest have examination skills' value at the end of the day.
